AI image generation is great at producing beautiful one-offs. The challenge was to see whether it could support a complete, consistent visual series.

I wanted to create stylized depictions of Vishnu’s ten avatars while maintaining the same tone, visual language, framing, and mythological atmosphere across every image. Each avatar had to feel unique, but still belong to the same world.

I built a shared visual system for the series: ornate borders, cinematic lighting, gold detailing, dramatic compositions, Sanskrit-inspired textures, and a mythological poster-like structure.

Using a mix of Higgsfield, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Photoshop, I created a workflow that helped carry context from one image to the next while still allowing each avatar to have its own mood, symbolism, and environment.

The work involved prompt writing, context building, image generation, selection, refinement, and post-production.

I treated each avatar as both an individual character and part of a larger visual archive. Matsya and Kurma leaned into cosmic oceanic scale. Narasimha became darker and more visceral. Krishna was softer and more lyrical. Buddha centered on stillness. Kalki moved into a futuristic, apocalyptic world.

The process became less about asking AI for an image and more about directing a system.

The final series helped me understand how to use AI as an art direction tool.

It showed how consistency can be built through repeated visual rules, contextual prompting, and careful post-production. The result was a cohesive mythological series that explored not only Vishnu’s ten avatars, but also the creative possibilities and limitations of AI-led image-making.
